Talleres– Workshops of Mexico

Here in the U.S., knowledge of repaIr and repurposing have all but disappeared. With planned obsolescence, last year’s purchases sit in landfills while we buy new. As repair shops disappear, we lose valuable knowledge and craftsmanship.

It’s heartening to visit places that have not yet lost this know-how. Workers breathe new life into nearly-spent items, their skills and labor are respected, and put food on the table for their families.

This collection is a tribute to the value of these workers.
